Khaula Mazhar is a self-taught local artist. She has exhibited her work both in Canada and abroad, she has received several certificates of appreciation and special recognition and was a finalist nominated for a MARTYs award in 2017 and 2018. She works with a variety of mediums and enjoys painting different subjects. A true believer that art is good for you, she loves to share her passion and get the community more involved in art through a variety of different activities she organizes as well as painting public art projects.
“Ada” is an ongoing series I am painting, dedicated to appreciating the beauty and elegance of South Asian women, their talents as well as their resilience. “Stories of Hope” is part of this series and portrays three characters from classic Indian cinema, from three different movies. The heroines of these stories were famous for their perseverance as well as their grace and beauty.
