My current body of work is born out of the collaboration between me and my rich Indian heritage. It’s a visual narrative of the exchange that goes on between the two in the studio as I discover collectibles from my inheritance. A melange of simple objects that arise out of this connection offers a great variety of textures and materials that are elevated to a compelling narrative under a dramatic interplay of light and shadows.
At the centre of it all, lies a unique and beautiful human experience that arises from what we are. It is a part of our souls and a bridge between the past and future. Through my artwork, I wish to transport my audience back in time, opening a floodgate of memories of the forgotten past and yet creating a coveted collectible for years to come. I hope to encourage my audience to begin a journey inward, rekindling their relationship with their own heritage, one that is often ignored and lies beneath the thick dust of modern times but is nonetheless alive.
