Barb has always been enthralled with the gorgeous textiles and the beautiful blue indigo dye which is linked historically to South Asia.

While she enjoys working in a wide range of mediums, she frequently incorporates textiles into her practice. Nature is a major source of inspiration for her. These works have been created by bundling local plant material into silk fabric. They are then ecodyed with turmeric and indigo creating a variety of yellow, blue and green colours, and suggestions of natural forms.
