After completing her masters in textile designing, Shamailah engaged herself in different art activities related to her field. But her crave for art couldn’t stop her there . She always tries different mediums in her heavy textured contemporary paintings. The use of heavy duty acrylic paints, mixed media textures and relief 3D effects add a dramatic uniqueness to all her work. Other than painting, she has  expertise in silk painting, quilt making and appliqué art.

She participated in many group exhibitions at different art galleries and legislative building Toronto.

She has won the spacial recognition award in the LSAT international online art competition, 2nd prize at the 11th juried art show at Beaux Art gallery and People’s Choice Award at Muslim fest 2017.
